Little One Mixed Media Layout by Marta

Hello, today I woold like to show you my mixed-media LO.

I created it after our hollyday weekend in May. 

We went at the lake for the first time in this year. 

 

I decided to use a photo of my daughter. 

 

 

 

I used some wooden butterflies .

 I 've stamped it with butterfly stamp and gesso, 

and next I've painted it with Art Anthology Plush - Coloration Spray. 

 

 

 

 

I' ve chosen CX868 Blossom Assortment, 

which I painted a little bit of Timeless and Plush - AA Coloration Sprays. 

 

 

A little bit of texture with AA Dottie stencil and Parakeet sorbet, 

and some flower stamps to complete the composition. 

 

 

More texture with Orbital, Butterfiles sand Dottie stencils, completed with flower stamps.

 

 

I've chosen also this big and beautiful flourish chipboard frame. 

I thought it will be fit perfect to this spring composition.

 

 

I painted it with green gelatos ane Parakeet sorbet.

 I add some Plush Splashes and stamped with gesso here and there.

 

 

I putt this beautiful and so soft GN593 - White Spring Sprung Flowers. 

 

 There is a big tittle - chippboard LITTLE ONE.
I've painted it with gelatos and add some doodling with black pen.

 

 

More doodling here and there... 

And that's all!

Beautiful Wedding Layout by Debbie

Hello friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a layout using some gorgeous Melissa Frances products!  These products are so versatile and absolutely love the fact that they can be used for scrapbooking, cardmaking and home decor!  I can see my house getting a few decoration makeovers soon!  If you love the Farmhouse look Melissa's  home decor products are some of the most popular  style out today.  If you have a wedding you are planning for be sure to check out her Wedding products! If you are a photographer Melissa has some great props for wedding photos or engagement photos!

 

Talking of weddings, I found this gorgeous photo and wanted to scrap it so here is the layout I created and I'll go through the details with you too! 

 

Choose your main supplies.

 

 

 

 

We'll start this layout by altering the chipboard, I simply cut it in half and painted it with Gesso.

 

 

Once the pieces are dry simply give them a quick spray with your favorite mists.

 

 

Next step is to paint all your pieces including your wood embellishment. Set aside and let them dry.

 

 

 

On  your patterned paper outline in pencil  where you want your photo to be placed.

 

 

 

 Using a Stencil of choice and Mud or modeling paste add some texture around the penciled area.

 

 

Cut a mat piece for your photo and adhere a piece of cardboard to the back for dimension.

 

 

Time to adhere your photo and flowers to the layout.

 

I hand made some flowers using a die.  I used some gold embossing powder and some Wink of Stella to give the flowers a little more shimmer.  I filled in the empty spaces around the flowers with Melissa Frances Pink Delicate Blossom Flowers and some Melissa Frances Pink Spring Sprung Flowers.

 

 

 

 

Finish up adhering 1/2 of your chipboard piece to the top of the photo.

To finish it I added some seed beads with gel medium and a small brush.

 

 

I added the other 1/2 of the chipboard and wooden finished pieces to the bottom of the photo. I further embellished them with seed beads.

 

 

Adhere your Melissa Frances Resin Butterflies to your layout.

 

 

I added a few sequins, some random stamping and a few splatters using your mists and your layout is finished!

Happy Layout

Hi friends! Debbie with you today. Today I'm sharing a layout using some gorgeous Melissa Frances products!  These products are so versatile and absolutely love the fact that they can be used for scrap booking, card making and home decor! I'm sharing a layout that is special for me, the photo is of our daughter's wedding a couple of years ago, I'm still scrapping some of them!  

 

 

I started this layout by adhering this gorgeous Melissa Frances flourished frame to my photo.

 

I painted the frame and the chipboard word with Art Anthology Stone Effects in Copper.  This is my new favorite color!!!   Once the paint was dry I added some random stamping with Archival Ink and a script stamp. Set these pieces aside temporarily.

 

 

The next step is to add some misting with Art Anthology Colorations.  I used Salmon and Peacock Feathers.  

Using the same Art Anthology Stone Effects and a stencil apply the pattern to you paper.

Allow it to dry and then adhere your photo to the layout.

Time to add embellishments. To embellish this layout I made a paper flower and added a Melissa Frances  Resin Heart and I filled in the empty spaces around the flowers with Melissa Frances Pink Delicate Blossom Flowers and some Melissa Frances White Spring Sprung Flowers.

Hello Fall

What better way to chronicle the changing seasons than a layout, and today we have a stunning one to show you made by design team member Emeline Seet. She says:

On this layout, I used an unconventional fall-theme colors (white, kraft and cream). I converted my photo to Sepia so that the picture blends effortlessly into the color combination. A touch of gold for the title makes the title stand out from the myriad layers of embellishments.

 

 

On this layout Emeline uses papers from our retired Attic Treasures Vol. 3 Collection. You can see what the entire paper collection looks like here:

A Wedding Keepsake

We hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today we have a really beautiful layout to share with you from Russian paper crafter Alyona-lilavadi Savinova.

She used papers from our discontinued 5th Avenue collection (while it is sold out many places, the specific paper Alyona used is still available here at scrapbook.com), and one of our resin accents to create a keepsake layout commemorating her wedding.

What a great way to display your wedding photo and remember the moment every time you pass by the project in your home!

She melts my heart layout inspiration

We always love layouts by design team member Emeline Seet. She uses a lot of layering to create really demensional and detailed projects. And today's project is just another example of her signature style. Emeline shared:

I used vellum and white lace and overlaid them over pattern papers to create a muted toned effect. A great idea to help prints on pattern papers blend together.

It seems like yesterday - Layout

Our Melissa Frances "Attic Treasures" papers really shine when used by design team member Emeline Seet in this gorgeous layout.

Emeline described this layout this way:

White, Cream and Kraft are the solid colored cardstock I often choose when making a layout with Melissa France's gorgeous papers. These basic colors work well and bring contrasts to make MF pattern papers stand out!

 

Emeline used PA395 - First Class Mail as the patterned paper on this layout, but what's really cool is how she cut the paper up to rearrange the collage bits on her page. Fun idea!

Cherish layout

Happy Wednesday - we're halfway through the week! Today we have a pretty layout from design team member Emeline Seet to share with you. She paired the Classic Elegance and Attic Treasures Collections beautifully on her page.

Here's Emeline's thought process behind the layout:

On this layout, I used a range of products from Melissa Frances. Namely Melissa Frances' tags, green vellum bags(GN555), white pearls (GN278) and resins.

I chose a close-up black and white portrait photo and used it as a pivot to build layers on my layout.  A beige card stock was selected to frame the entire page. 

 

In order to create my layout without embellishing and layering in an overwhelming manner, I chose the placement of each piece of pattern paper and embellishment purposefully. I layered the embellishments close in clusters and use the pattern papers in measured portions. Before I secure each item, I would twig and turn until the overall composition pleases my eyes.

 

Melissa France's resins are such wonderful embellishments which adds elegance to any layout. I love to include them onto my layouts and projects! In order not to overload my page with excess bulk, I fitted a smaller resin (crown) into a wider piece of resin.

An ode to Pinterest

If you've been checking out our blog lately, you'll know that we've been featuring projects using our brand new "The Sweet Life" collection. We are continuing to do so with today's layout from Carolyn Peeler. She used papers and one of the journaling cards from the collection on this layout where she waxes poetic about her love for Pinterest.

As our team makes the trek down to Anaheim for the Craft & Hobby Association trade show, we are thrilled to share our second new collection debuting in 2014 with you. 

Meet Melissa's second signature designer Sarolt Borbély. Sarolt is a talented designer from Hungary, and we are thrilled to be producing her first physical paper collection.

"The collection Glamour & Grunge is about a bouquet of yellow roses, freshly ironed linen, ivory brocades and laces on burlap table runners, cappuccino with cinnamon and warm whipped milk, with golden stains of coffee on some parchment papers, it's about faded rose blossoms and textured papers, ink  bottles and pearls turned yellow, treasury boxes with kitschy gems and  cut-outs from old newspapers with news long forgotten. Objects with souls whisper and are witnesses of times gone by. This collection comes with matching tags, treat bags, washi stickers and mini album.

Finally, as Sarolt is new to the paper crafting community, we thought you'd like to learn more about this talented designer.

Here is an introduction directly from Sarolt:

I grew up in a big family in a small town in Hungary, which is in the heart of Europe. I had a great childhood and as far as I can remember, always loved to design – being creative must be in my genes, as one of my ancestors was a famous Hungarian painter and in my family we all have some artistic touches in one way or other.

When I was 12, our whole family moved to Germany for 5 years and at the age of 17, I went as an exchange student for a big adventure to Tucson, Arizona. A couple of years later I also spent half a year in Denmark with the Erasmus scholarship for university students.

 

Thanks to those years abroad, I’m a very open-minded personality and I had a hard time to decide a profession. I have degrees in both landscape architechture and law and currently work in the government, in the department for spatial planning.

 

I have been married to my husband since 2006. And we are very blessed to have 3 little imps to take care of, 2 boys and finally a little girl, born in 2009, 2010 and 2012. They are still very little and my hands are full.

 

In order to balance my more acedemic work with my creativity, I opened my etsy shop “Bitmap” where I offer scrapbooking supplies with a vintage flair. I just love to design, which I do mostly at nights. I'm very happy now that I have the opportunity to reach so many of you crafty folks through my collection Glamour & Grunge, and I'm very grateful to Melissa Frances, who made my dreams come true!
