Happy Mother's day to all the Mom's out there. We hope your were spoiled this weekend.

Today we have a beautiful card from design team member Rachel McAffee to share with you. She used our beautiful Attic Treasures collection in combination with a background paper from the brand new Glamour & Grunge collection.

The real star of Rachel's card is our beautiful "Heaven Sent" Resin Applique (CX815). We love how she shows the versatility of this set...it can be used for Christmas cards for sure, but as this card illustrates, it can also be used for sympathy cards, celebration cards, and baby cards!

Thinking of you today

Today's inspirational project is this "Thinking of you" card by design team member Evgenia Petzer. She used the "Classic Elegance" collection to create this vibrant spring colored card.

You're the Sweetest!

This is another BEAUTIFUL card sample using our "The Sweet Life" collection from design team member Melissa Phillips. She used the papers and the Journaling cards from the collection, along with our Pink Crochet Trim.

From design team member Melissa Phillips, we have another sweet card which she made for our CHA trade show booth. She really rocked our "The Sweet Life" collection with this lovely card which anyone would be overjoyed to receive!

It's a celebration!

Another CHA is officially over and as our team and customers make their way home, we wanted to share a few of our talented DT's projects with you.

Today we are sharing this awesome card featuring "The Sweet Life" collection, by Melissa Phillips.

She added glitter to the lovely chipboard cake piece from the chipboard embellishment package.

This collection was a sure fire winner at CHA, and we can't wait for our customers to get it in their hands!

Be Merry Card

"Home for the Holidays" was a Christmas collection released by Melissa Frances a few years ago. It was love at first sight for design team member Evgenia Petzer, who says:

I absolutely loved the old Christmas collection  Home for the Holidays by Melissa Frances. In fact, I think I have finished two entire 6"x6" paper pads  of it!
I made a detailed card with vintage feeling for my special friend. Love the soft, traditional christmas colors and the Melissa Frances resin Super Stars (CX832) add a nice touch to the cards.

A Copic marker Gift Card envelope tutorial

With Christmas on its way in only 13 days, the Melissa Frances blog will turn to some awesome inspiration from our talented design team. Today, we have a very pretty way to decorate a Melissa Frances Printed Envelope (GN562) and turn it into a stunning Gift Card Envelope. This great tutorial comes to us courtesy of the talented Sherrie Siemens. So, I'll let her walk you through the steps to making this masterpiece!

1) Stamp Pearl on Copic friendly paper (X-press it blending card). Take a pencil and trace the outside of the resin frame.

2) Color the skin. (I used Copic markers: E000, E01, E11, R20). My light source is coming from the right. Remember to add shadows to the face (ie. nose and eyes).

3) Color the dress (I used Copic markers: RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99). For the skirt, add color in long strokes to help give realism to the pleats.

4) Add a bit of grey to the "white areas" (I used Copic markers: W1, W3, W5, 0).

5) Color the hair using curly strokes and two shades of brown. (I used Copic markers: E33, E39)

6) Get rid of the white look of the paper by airbrushing, (using Copic marker E43) around Pearl. I was able to do this without masking her, but you may want to mask her off if the airbrush system is new to you.

7) Once you have finished coloring the stamped image, you may cut her out, along your pencil marks. Then, apply glue to the back of the resin frame, and set it down onto the image you have colored, so that it is glued onto the back of the frame. Now you are ready to use the photo below as a guide to decorate the front of one of the Melissa Frances printed envelopes (GN562).

2 cards from the Ukraine

We told you last week how much we love hearing from customers around the world who use our Melissa Frances products. Over the next few weeks, we have some exciting projects to share with you that have been shared with us by you, our customers!

We received these two cards from Ganna Gruden. She says:

"I am a crafter from Ukraine. Recently I am very excited to have some collections of paper by Melissa Frances and so I often make cards and layouts from it! I would like to share with you some cards I have made using this paper."

Ganna used our popular "5th Avenue" collection on both of her projects. 5th Avenue is one of our discontinued collection, so if you like it, and find it, you should purchase it as it is quickly becoming a collectors item!
