Hi crafty friends! Kathy Adams here to share a different kind of background that pairs well with Melissa's Flea Market Find Metal Appliques. I recently discovered resin for molding embellishments and jewelry making. But when my friend showed me how she paints with it, I knew I had to try it! I've tried all different brands and they all work basically the same. Resin comes in white and clear and for this project, I use the clear. Amazing Resin brand even makes dyes to color the resin. I've prepared a tutorial to show you how I made these art pieces.

Tutorial
I made the lighter blue resin panel first before knowing that I wanted to do this tutorial. While creating it, there was lots of drippage, which created a really cool design that I thought I wanted to use somehow.
I only had an 8" square wood panel that matched the smaller one so I decided to pour more resin on the background and use the "waste" from the last on the top.
After mixing the resin according to the directions, I added a few drops of blue Alumilite dye. I wanted contrast between the resins. I let it drip over the side and used an old brush to paint all four sides with the drippage.
