Hello creative friends! Kathy here today to share some cards I made using Melissa's resin and wood embellishments.
I have a tutorial over on the Art Anthology blog today showing how I made the background for the cards using Art Anthology Minx Shimmering Inks and Masks.

Background Using Art Anthology Minx and Masks |
Once you've made the background, cut it into card sized pieces and attach them to coordinating card stock. I used my sewing machine to sew them on to add an extra element to the background.
For the embellishments, I gathered Art Anthology mediums, Ten Second Studios Patina Paint, and various other mixed media supplies and got to work painting, stamping, spraying and gluing.
Embellishment Detail

Resin Butterfly: Paint with Art Anthology (AA) Cayman Sorbet and a bit of gesso. Spray with AA Siesta Key Colorations Spray and let dry. Paint the body with AA Mardi Gras Velvet and rub the wings so that the dark purple seeps into the crevasses. Wipe the excess Mardi Gras off of the wings. Add AA Gold Metal Effects to the edges of the wings.
Wood Thanks: Paint with AA Cayman Sorbet and a bit of gesso. Add a second coat of Cayman and then spray with AA Siesta Key Colorations Spray and let dry. Add AA Gold Metal Effects with your finger to highlight edges.
Wood Wine Bottle and Glass: Paint with a mixture of gesso and AA Wineberry Velvet and let dry. Paint with another coat of Wineberry and spray with AA Barbie Colorations Spray. When dry, stamp bottle with script background stamp and black archival ink. Edge both with the black ink pad. Paint on a coat of Glossy Accents and let dry.
Wood Gears: Paint with AA Cayman Sorbet and a bit of gesso and let dry. To create the rusted, worn look, I used Ten Second Studios Patina Paint, which involves painting on metallic paint then spraying with a solution to create the patina. This card was mailed to my dad for Father's Day.
