As we head into the weekend, we have a beautiful project to share from design team member Emeline Seet. She used our Attic Treasures Collection papers, 5th Avenue chipboard, resin elements, crepe paper and trims to create a wonderful tone on tone project that is both classic and timeless.
Here, from Emeline, is a description of how she made the beautiful flower on the top right of the box:
Crepe paper is great for adding dimension. It comes in several colors and is easily manipulated. Here, I made use of Melissa France's cream colored crepe paper and lace to create a ruffle flower.
- Measure and cut a 12"x2.5" piece of crepe paper. Cut scallop shapes along the length of one edge
- Measure and cut 12"x2" of lace. Place the strip of lace on top of the strip of crepe paper.
- Stitch the lace and crepe together using simple running stitch.
- Towards the end of the strips, pull the thread together so that gathers are formed. Adjust and even out the ruffles.
- Tie a knot in the thread. Stick on pearls to finish.
Thanks so much for visiting the Melissa Frances blog. We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Love it!
