We hope you had a great weekend. Our team was busy at the Tulsa, OK convention. It was nice to see all those who came by our booth.

We have a great card mad by design team member Evgenia Petzer to share with you today. She used our "Classic Elegance" Collection on this striking thank you card. Evgenia used one of the images from our Adopted Ancestors paper (PA408) as the focal point on her card. This is something that we've seen many of our design team members do, and is a great way to get a lot of mileage out of one sheet of paper:

Decorative Stacking Boxes • Video Tutorial with Melissa Frances

Make a beautiful home décor piece in this episode of "Timeless Creations with Melissa Frances" from My Craft Channel, as Melissa walks you through decorating her set of 3 stacking boxes. She will show you the easiest way to cover the boxes with paper, then demonstrate how to make a nest out of fringed organza ribbon. Finally, she will share with viewers how she makes word strips to add sentiments to her projects.

Shabby Style Shadowbox

As we head into the weekend, we have a beautiful project to share from design team member Emeline Seet. She used our Attic Treasures Collection papers, 5th Avenue chipboard, resin elements, crepe paper and trims to create a wonderful tone on tone project that is both classic and timeless.

Here, from Emeline, is a description of how she made the beautiful flower on the top right of the box:

Crepe paper is great for adding dimension. It comes in several colors and is easily manipulated. Here, I made use of Melissa France's cream colored crepe paper and lace to create a ruffle flower.

1. Measure and cut a 12"x2.5" piece of crepe paper. Cut scallop shapes along the length of one edge
2. Measure and cut 12"x2" of lace. Place the strip of lace on top of the strip of crepe paper.
3. Stitch the lace and crepe together using simple running stitch.
4. Towards the end of the strips, pull the thread together so that gathers are formed. Adjust and even out the ruffles.
5. Tie a knot in the thread. Stick on pearls to finish.

We have decided to make this a more intimate event and also due to some scheduling conflicts with the hotel, we have chosen to keep the entire event at Whitworth Ranch Retreat. What this means is the cost to us is able to go way down, so we are passing that savings along to you! What it boils down to is this:

In this super creative class Melissa will be taking you through a Bookbinding 102 class. She will show you how to use chipboard and fabric to create a truly custom journal or mini album. Melissa will also show you how to make and sew signatures into your new fabric album cover. We will also explore how to color our Melissa Frances accents with Copic markers then use a super cool technique to give the colored accents a shabby chic look. You will be given direction and class time to decorate pages inside your new mini album if you'd like. Suggested uses for your finished book include a diary, notebook, or traditional mini album. This workshop has one of the largest class kits Melissa has ever assembled. Students will have many left-overs which can be used for subsequent projects.
