Today's blog project comes to us from Melissa Frances customer Danielle Hayes.  She stops by the Melissa Frances booth at the Creating Keepsakes Convention each year and purchased the supplies she used on this project there.  In addition to selling our mass release products, at the consumer shows we also often have exclusive products. Danielle used one of those on this project. She says:

I bought a bottle of notions from the Melissa Frances booth years ago, the first time I met her.  It was a little glass jar that had buttons, stamens, a silver set of wings, some vintage snaps and other fun things.  A piece of fabric was used on top to seal it and tied with a piece of lace.  I used the buttons and things on these boxes, and when I tied them together, I used that piece of lace.

A trio of C'est la Vie greeting cards

We received this lovely note from Russian Designer Tatiana:

My name is Tatiana Klimshina and I am a crafter from Russia. Recently I have got fascinating "C'est la vie" collection by Melissa Frances and I can’t stop making cards! I want to thank you for this collection, it is gorgeous! I would like to share with you some cards I have made using this paper.

I used paper c'est la vie collection, hand made napkins, hand made zipper flowers, hand made cameos, hand made blue rose (using Fimo plastic), silk ribbon, some buttons and pearls, sparkles from Kaizercraft and one flower from Prima.



We love how Tatiana's cards have such a soft, Spring look to them. They are perfect for this time of year.

Annette's Diner Layout

As we anxiously await for the "Classic Elegance" product line to get to the warehouse, here is another inspiring share from our design team to get you excited about using the line.

Today's layout comes from French design team member Fabienne Pernot. It celebrates her families visit to Disneyland Paris and their hankering to see America in person someday.

Fabienne says: These photos are taken at Annette's Diner at Disneyland Paris. For my children and for me, this restaurant was like an alternate reality. It reminded us of the movie Grease and 50s. In addition, it was a very good restaurant, what kid doesn't like eating a hamburger, hot-dog or milkshake! The cardboard car, provided with the children's menu is so fun! My son, Rémi, would love to see one for real! My husband to ;-)  Annette's is a bit of the American dream, without having to travel thousands of miles! But one day, I promise, we will cross the Atlantic Ocean, and see the United States for real!

Angel Home Decor Piece

While many of our customers use our Melissa Frances products for card making and scrapbooking, many of our items are tailor made for Home Decor projects. We were really excited to receive an email showing our Glass Dome used in this beautiful angel display. The designer, Karen Hillman said: I recently discovered the Melissa Frances line and am MADLY in love with the items!  I used some of the trim and one of the little glass domes to create this piece I call "Angel Dance".  I think it is one of my favorite creations ever and I wanted to share a photo with you!

Workshop in Italy

We are pleased to share with our Italian fans that Sr. Creative Director Carolyn Peeler will be teaching her amazing "Start to Finish" mini album class at Scrappando Carta e Ricordi in Prato Italy May 11 & 12.

In her "Start to Finish" workshop Carolyn will be taking students through a Bookbinding 101 class. She will show how easy it is to use chipboard and fabric to create a truly custom journal or mini album. Carolyn will also show how to make and sew signatures into your new fabric album cover. We will also explore how to color our Melissa Frances accents with Copic markers then use a super cool technique to give the colored accents a shabby chic look. You will be given direction and class time to decorate pages inside your new mini album if you'd like. Suggested uses for your finished book include a diary, notebook, or traditional mini album. This workshop has one of the largest class kits Carolyn has ever assembled. Students will have many left-overs which can be used for subsequent projects.
