Happy Halloween!!

As we told you yesterday, design team member Rachel McAffee loves Halloween and creating altered projects to put around the house to celebrate the holiday. Today's project from Rachel is made on one of our House Backdrops (GN598). She decorated it with stickers, die cuts, and patterned papers from our Attic Treasures Collection.

Something Spooky...

( Supplies used: Glass Dome   • fabric scraps • Bottle Brush Tree • Black Cat Sticker- Melissa Frances • candlestick- Dollar Tree • Tissue Garland )

Design team member Rachel McAffee enjoys making altered projects and the holiday Halloween, so today's project combines two things she loves! Here are some quick directions from Rachel:

I started by spray painting the candlestick white and letting it dry. I then glued the base of the dome on top of the candlestick and adhered the tree and cat sticker on top and replaced the dome.

Using glue, trace around the base of the dome and attach the tissue garland. Tie a scrap of fabric around the base of the candlestick and tie a bit of bakers twine on top of it.  Finish off by gluing a bit of tissue garland on top of the dome and tying bakers twine around it.

Halloween treat bags

Halloween is quickly approaching and we have this great post from design team member Sherrie Siemens with a Halloween project to share with you.

Sherrie says: I thought I would share these chic little treat bags for some special trick-or-treaters! I made these with the Melissa Frances Attic Treasures Collection of patterned papers. I took a 12x12 piece and cut it in half so that I had a 6x12 piece. I used some awesome strong X-press it adhesive tape to secure the back seam as well as the top and bottom seam. SUPER easy!


Here is the set of three of them decorated up with my Melissa Frances goodies. LOVE the tulle ribbon (GN580) (that I also just tacked on with clear double sided tape.)



The images on the front of the paper bags and tags (GN341) are from the Attic Treasures Seasonal Stickers.

The little sentiments stamped on the inside of the envelopes are from My Favorite Things.

On all three goodie bags I also used the Die Cuts sheet (GN563) from Attic Treasures as well as the Sticker banners (GN561).

Design team member Emeline Seet has designed a great project which would be a thoughtful thank you gift for a friend or family member. Emeline's project uses our Attic Treasures Collection and resin embellishments. We especially love the 3D butterflies, which add a lovely dimensional aspect to the framed artwork.

It has been our pleasure to share projects from Ros Crawford here on the MF blog in the past and it is a treat to share another one of her creations with you today.

Ros shared the following about the papers she used (from the Attic Treasures and C'est la Vie Collections) on this project:

I love to mix and match my papers but one of the best things about Melissa Frances papers is that there are always sheets that have a mix of patterns on them ... put together perfectly ... so you don't have to think even!

Then again all MF sets co-ordinate with each other so well too ... so this was created using papers from both sets ...

Attic Treasures Art Board

Today we have a lovely project by Sharon Johnson to share with you. I'll let you hear what she has to say about it:

What I made for today is not a card per se, but a 5 x 7″ piece of art, if you will. One could write on and sign the back, using it as a card. It can also be hung from the clip on a nail or small hook or pinned to a note board, or it could be displayed on a table in a photo holder as I have it displayed in the photo above.

I used Attic Treasures paper (6×6) for this project — LOVE that pad! It is filled with soft, subtle vintage prints and patterns all in shades of cream, blush and brown tones.

The card stock used is SU Very Vanilla and Blush Blossom. The ink used to edge the paper is Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen.

The Let’s Celebrate little banner is a sticker in the Attic Treasures Collection.Couldn’t be easier. I added the silver rhinestones by Kaisercraft.

See my focal image flower with the strips of alphabet, numbers and zig zag stitching? It’s just a portion of a sheet from the pad. Couldn’t be easier!

I also used the Melissa Frances Victorian Ephemera Kit for some of the embellishments on this card. The pearls came from that kit, but can also be purchased individually on pearl and rhinestone cards by Melissa Frances.

Playing dress up

Linda Johnson from Arlington Texas sent us an email with this super adorable mini dress case. She says:

I always go see Melissa Frances when she is at the Arlington GASC. She is such a sweet person and has been through so much. I am so happy she is doing so well. I just love her products and paper lines. I made this little "doll clothes closet" up and had such fun. When I was a child I used to love to play with paper dolls. I bought this stamp that had the dress with the stand on it and used that to make the clothes. It was such fun. It was like playing again...only without the paper doll!

Linda brought this case and showed it to Melissa at the Great American Scrapbook show. We always LOVE seeing what customers make with the products we design and this particular one gets a '10' on the adorable-ness factor! It uses many of our older, discontinued papers, so they are no longer available, but we couldn't resist sharing it anyways.
