Where were you born, and where do you currently live? I was born in a small town in western Iowa, and I currently live in central Iowa.
Tell us about your family:I have been married to my husband, Glen for almost 7 years and we have twin 1-year-old daughters, Nora & Lily.
Pet Peeves: People who text or talk on their cell phone while in line at the store or while you are trying to have a conversation with them drive me crazy!
Favorite Magazines: Scrapbooks Etc., Paper Crafts, Scrapbook Trends, CARDS, Creating Keepsakes
Favorite Smells: Freshly baked cookies and coffee, Nectarine Mint hand soap from Bath & Body Works
Favorite Movies or Books: I ADORE the Twilight Saga, Harry Potter and The Hunger Games trilogy. Twilight got me interested in reading a lot of young adult lit. I also love "chick lit" books by Sophie Kinsella, Jennifer Weiner, Kristin Hannah, Elin Hilderbrand, and Emily Giffin to name a few of my favorite authors. I also enjoy reading historical fiction.
My favorite movies are You've Got Mail, Twilight, New Moon, The Holiday, Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice, The Bourne Identity trilogy, and Lord of the Rings. I love anything from a good romantic comedy to drama to action.
What time do you wake up in the morning? 7:00 a.m.
Favorite TV shows: American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and Lost (so sad this one is over!)
Favorite Season Definitely spring! We have long winters in Iowa so I love when it warms up and my world is green again!
Do you collect anything? Willow Tree angels and scrapbooking supplies! :)
When and how did you get into scrapbooking? I started scrapbooking right after I was married. At that time, I just had a lot of fun buying supplies! :) I did a little actual scrapbooking but was more of a "shopper." I ended up creating a lot of layouts but took about a two year break and focused on cards and altered projects. Since the birth of my daughters, I have really been into layouts again. It seems to be major life altering events that get me back into recording family moments and memories.
What music (if any) do you listen to while you scrap? I don't listen to music but I catch up on TV shows and watch movies.
How would you describe your scrapbooking style? I definitely have a soft, shabby chic style. I love to use my sewing machine for a homespun look. Having two girls gives me a great excuse to use pink, lace and ruffles!
Where do you find inspiration? I love to browse galleries and blogs and find a lot of inspiration at antique shops and by looking through fashion magazines.
Do you like to crop with others or scrap alone? I enjoy the chance to catch up with friends at crops, but I only work on projects that are repetitive and don't require much creative thought. I do my best work when I scrap alone so I can concentrate on what I'm working on.
What is one scrapbooking tool, you can't live without? My sewing machine
Here is Jill's first project. Watch for more of her beautiful creations throughout the next week, and don't forget to stop by her blog!!!
