I know...it's the last day of October, but things have been a little busy with Breast Cancer Awareness month. Fear not, because we have not forgotten about our super talented guest artist, Laura Vigliarolo...
Where were you born, and where do you currently live? I was born in South Carolina, raised in Kentucky and moved to Michigan the day after I graduated High School
Hobbies & Interests: Crafts, basically of any kind, I grew up doing craft shows, mostly ceramics but did all kinds and still love it and love to learn more.
Pet Peeves: I would love to say disorganization but if you saw my craft space you all would gasp. So I guess I would have to say not knowing what’s going on sometimes I can be a control freak.
Favorite Magazine: Any Somerset Magazines
Favorite Smells: Cucumbers and fresh snapped green beans……it reminds me of my Mamaw’s in Ky.
Favorite Movies or Books: I really don’t read a lot, once I start a book nothing else will get done until I finish it, so I stopped (the kids like to eat) as far as movies I love Fried Green Tomatoes
Favorite TV show: House and Bones
Favorite Season: Fall
What time do you wake up in the morning? Usually around 7:30, my kids are older and want me out of the way when they get ready for school/work and the last on leaves at 7:30
Do you collect anything? Well scrapping stuff of course but I also started collecting old photos, it seems sad to see them in shops like they’ve just been discarded, I LOVE old lace trim and vintage flowers, I just love all thing vintage/antique.
SCRAPBOOKING:
When and how did you get into scrapbooking? My oldest was in 7th grade and he needed a family tree, of course he told me the morning it was due, so after that I started dinging into it and now I can go back to the 1100’s with stories and I have pictures to the mid 1800’s and I’ve been scrapping every since.
What is your favorite Melissa Frances Product? I can’t pick one, love the vintage feel of all but the architecture elements are great, but I can’t wait until I get my hands on the new Christmas line and houses.
What music (if any) do you listen to while you scrap? If it is mine it’s country, most of the time it’s what ever noise the boys are playing or Tim on his guitar.
What do you like to snack on while you scrap? Swedish fish
How would you describe your scrapbooking style? Shabby vintage, but I have been doing more funky stuff with two teenage boys.
What is more important to you…getting the photos into albums, or indulging in creativity? Creativity, I know I will never get caught up but I love being creative with my stuff.
Where do you find inspiration? Everywhere, even in my son’s sarcastic answers.
Do you like to crop with others or scrap alone? I love to scrap at home, too much stuff to pack, and yes I do get together from time to time with friends were we all pack our props to make it look like we are cropping and sit and talk, some of us may get a page done.
How has scrapbooking changed your life? I have learned so much about my family and history, and I look at life so much different, appreciate little things more, I don’t need to scrap every little thing but I do appreciate it now.
What is one scrapbooking tool, you can't live without? My cutter and my zip-dry
What format do you scrap? (12x12, 8.5x11 etc)? 12 x 12
Which do you prefer? Scrapbook layouts, cards, altered projects? I do and teach all three but I love altering.
Do you have any organization or time saving tips you could share? I don’t thing so, if I think of any they will be sure to go on my blog. I can use all the organization tips I can get.
