I have a poem that I found years ago, made a mini scrapbook for my bestfriend last Christmas and the poem was the theme of the scrapbook.

"You're the finest of the fine. Take this little thought from me. You are what I'd like to be. All the kindly deeds you do, make me wish that I were you. You're the finest of the fine. Good old loyal friend of mine."

Melissa, you are such an inspiration to all of us. I am excited for you for Friday! What a milestone, what an achievement. I wish you nothing but blissful, healthful years ahead. And here is your quote (of course I'm exempt from the drawing -- but I just wanted to post anyway!) because this quote reminds me so much of you...

In the midst of winter, I found there was in me, an invincible summer.

Lots of love,

My favorite quote is:

The future belongs to those that beleive in the beauty of their dreams.
~Eleanor Roosevelt

Here's an inspiring story I kept:

As I was driving home from work one day, I stopped to watch a local Little League baseball game that was being played in a park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the first-base line, I asked one of the boys what the score was. "We're behind 14 to nothing," he answered with a smile. "Really," I said. "I have to say you don't look very discouraged."
"Discouraged?" the boy asked with a puzzled look on his face. "Why should we be discouraged? We haven't been up to bat yet."

All the best as you await the results! Hugs, Jackie

"Life isn't always fair but God is always Just." Congrats on the last treatment.

Okay I have a few !! Oh and I was wondering if you had heard of Kris Carr and her fight with cancer . She has a book, a blog, a documentary. Anyway here is a link to her stuff!!

I just love her. Hope you are having a relaxing day.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore.Dream. Discover"

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst a spark that creates extraordinary results."

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."--Ralph Waldo Emerson...hugs and lots of love going your way

It is not a quote but I love this Hymn:

Where can I turn for peace?
Where is my solace
When other sources cease to
make me whole?...

Where is the quiet hand to calm
my anguish?
Who, who can understand?
He, only One.

He answers privately,
Reaches my reaching
In my Gethsemane, Savior and Friend.
Gentle the peace he finds for my beseeching.
Constant he is and kind, Love without end
(LDS Hymns, no. 129)

I regulary check your blog, I don;t know if've I posted before, but i'm not good putting my thoughts into words; this time was easy because I express thru a hymn

Laura & Ellie

My four year old daughter and I read your site daily.
We talk about everything and it is so amazing for both of us to see you with bandages and a black eye with that ever present beautiful smile. You have shown us both that life truly is what you make of it!! Happy end of chemo!

here's my fave quote
"It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness."
Eleanor Roosevelt

I have two to share. *hugs* to you Melissa.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. (Anon)

At the end of our time on earth, if we have lived fully, we will not be able to say, "I was always happy". Hopefully we will be able to say, "I have experienced a lifetime of real moments, and many of them were happy moments." Barbara DeAngelis

My favorite all time quote is "The journey is the reward" (Chinese proverb). It always reminds me not to rush life.

Good luck with everything.

Kim R.

I am trying to remember the way the quote goes....

Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become your character. ( I can't remember who this is by. My Mom has had this hanging on the side of her fridge since I was a child. When I got married and moved away--I had to come home and copy it down to keep in my house as a reminder of how to try to live my life!)

Connie Fisher

Two of my favorite quotes are:

1) The most wasted of all days is one without laughter---e.e.cummings

2) The mind is like a parachute; it works best when it's open.

Cheers to your last treatment and good news to come! Your sweet smiling face is an inspiration to all of us!

William Henry Channing : To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury; and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable; and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony. Borrowed from Ali Edwards blog - thought it was appropriate

This is one of my faves:
Yesterday I was a dog. Today I'm a dog. Tomorrow I'll probably still be a dog. Sigh! There's so little hope for advancement.

My fave scrapping quote is "I spent most of my money on scrapbooking and eating out. The rest I just wasted!"
