The journey of a breast cancer patient is frequently fraught with speed bumps, set-backs, scares, victories and successes. Today Melissa is encountering one of those speed bumps. A few weeks ago Melissa discovered a lump in her nose and eyelid. She was worried and immediately contacted her doctors to get it looked into. Her doctors are 99.9% sure that the lumps will be benign, however given her stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis; they are being proactive in investigating it. Today Melissa will undergo a biopsy surgery just to make sure that everything is OK. From tackling a speed bump to celebrating a victory; while today will see Melissa undergoing these tests, Friday will see her celebrating the end of her active treatment for her original stage 3 diagnosis. After 18months of going to the hospital every 3 weeks for her herceptin infusion, Melissa will receive her last dose! Melissa calls her herceptin infusions 'good chemo' unlike 'bad chemo', which affects all the cells in the body; 'good chemo' specifically targets the cancer cells and has fewer side effects. As you can imagine with the end of her active treatment in sight, Melissa is feeling excitement, joy and a sense of accomplishment.
Today we would encourage you to leave Melissa a note of encouragement as she undergoes her biopsy surgery today. And be sure to stop by tomorrow as it will mark the beginning of a weeklong countdown celebration full of inspiration, encouragement and fun giveaways!
all the best to you today, melissa.
positive thoughts all around!!!

You are in my prayers for God's healing grace. My son is almost 4 and when he was 21 months old he was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma(brain tumors). He had two of the tumors removed through a 12 hour surgery and 1 by chemo. He had regrowth while on chemo and was given a less than 30% chance of survival. After complete cranial and spinal radiation for six weeks has been in remission for a little over a year. This past Wednesday God blessed us with another clear MRI. The road is tough but with God all things are possible.
Hugs!!!

Melissa,
My best friend was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer early this year, not weeks after I discovered a lump in my right breast. Mine was atypical hyperplasia and was surgically removed with no further treatment necessary. My best friend however, is currently undergoing chemotherapy. She will beat this; I know this for sure. We scrapbook together to stay focused on the important and positive things of life. It is scrapbook designers like you that give us all the beautiful papers and embellishement needed to create long-lasting memories of the most important moments of our life. For this I thank you from the bottom of my heart! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Have hope.
Be your own advocate.
You will beat this.
My mother beat breast cancer, fifteen years later, she would give you the same advice.
