Easter is over and done, and now many of us have photos and memories to scrap. This adorable Easter layout comes to us from friend of Melissa Frances, Mona Pendleton. We love how Mona has put together papers from THREE different Melissa Frances Collections! The white and black dot is from 5th Avenue, the cream storybook paper is from Attic Treasures, and the pink and green floral papers are from the Vintage Posey Collection.

Update on Melissa

We wanted to give you a quick update on Melissa's recovery from her surgery. (For those of you who are unaware, on Feb.23 she underwent a double mastectomy and bi-lateral trams-flap procedure. This was proactive, due to her previous breast cancer.)

She continues to amaze her Doctor with how quickly she is healing.  However she has been working harder than her doctor would advise and, as a result, has been having fluid build up which has had to be drained once a week for the past three weeks. Yesterday (April 27th), after visiting her doctor, he decided to perform an out-patient surgery procedure on her to insert some drains. She is now resting comfortably at home.

Please join me in wishing her continued recovery.

(And if from time to time you wish to post on her facebook wall and remind her to take it easy, I'm sure her Doctor would appreciate it ☺)

If you're like me, I'm sure that many of you have a few of these patterned papers hidden in your stash. If so, here's a little encouragement to get them out and make something pretty with them ☺

Sweet and Simple Card Instructions

 
(Supply List: Patterned paper - Melissa Frances 5th Ave. 6x6 Paper Pad - GN444 • Sticker - 5th Avenue Ephemera Stickers - GN440 • Cream Pearls - GN297 • Other: Seam binding, button, string, flower)

Sometimes simple can be stunning! Check out this card featuring our 5th Avenue Collection made by Johanna. The great thing about this card? It can be used for virtually any theme. It's pretty, adaptable and easy too - check it out!

1.) Cut a piece of collage paper from the 5th Avenue 6x6 paper pad the same size as your card front (but don't glue it down yet).
2.) Wrap a piece of seam binding around the patterned paper and tie it in a bow.
3.) Glue patterned paper to card front.
4.) Using a sewing machine, stitch around the outer edge of the card.
5.) Using pop dots or other dimensional adhesive, apply little girl sticker right below the bow.
6.) Apply a cream pearl below the little girl sticker.
7.) Attach flower and button using string to the center of the bow.

Once again we have a beautifully executed project from the talented Mona Pendleton to share with you. We love how the ink colors she used for her stamped images pop off the soft green Melissa Frances patterned paper. And don't you think that Waltzing mouse label stamp fits the Melissa Frances style so well?!

Happy Monday! This week we are featuring a few delightful Easter themed projects.

As soon as we saw this super cute little decorative box by design team member Johanna, we knew that it should be featured on the blog during our Easter week celebration. Wouldn't this would be a really fun project to make with children during their Easter break?
