Hey Kimberly,

To make the cone shape, I just used a children's paper party hat(I got a pack of them at Target for a few dollars). Cut one of the hats in half,(use this one as your template) lay it out and trace it on a sheet of pattern paper (I used a sheet of "Blanche" from Melissa Frances). Cut out the pattern paper and adhere it to another one of the party hats. You can also just draw a wide triangle on a sheet of pattern paper, and change the bottom from a straight line to a curved shape, cut it out and make that into a cone, but I like the sturdiness of the pre-made party hat, plus it already has the elastic chin strap.

I hope that makes sense, I'm terrible at writing directions! :)
