CHA is in full swing today in sunny California, and all of us at Melissa Frances look forward to giving away some goodies to all of our wonderful blog readers! All you have to do, is leave us a comment (please tell us where you're from...it's always fun to see where our readers live...) and you'll automatically be entered in a drawing for one of two prize packages of Melissa Frances product worth $50 each! We will draw a winner on Wednesday, the final day of CHA. Good Luck!
Here is a sneak peek at some of the new papers and goodies for the Thankful collecion. If you don't remember, Melissa, a breast cancer survivor, has created this line to honor breast cancer research, and she is donating a portion of all the proceeds to breastcancer.org.
CHA is just around the corner...the show begins on Sunday and runs through Wednesday. If you happen to be at the show, don't forget to visit Melissa Frances at booth #4077. Even if you won't be attending CHA, you can still see sneak peeks and WIN PRIZES here on the Melissa Frances blog. We will be hosting a big giveaway starting Sunday (the opening day of CHA), so be sure to stop by and leave us a comment for your chance to win! Here is another look at a new collection debuting at the show, the Attic Treasures collection. This is a classic collection that is very basic and while it is beautiful on it's own (especially for heritage layouts), it also accents and coordinates well with many of the other Melissa Frances collections. Here are some samples of projects our design team created for the booth...
Once again, we know that many of you work on your Holiday projects in January, so we thought we'd share one more Winter/Christmas layout with you before continuing with our CHA previews.
It was with great pleasure that we had Debby Schuh as the guest for the latest Melissa Frances newsletter (which can be seen here). Debby is one class act and she kindly agreed to do a little Q&A session with us for this blog.
Q: What is your favorite kind of project? Layout, cards, mini albums...and why?
A: My favorite kind of project is to make mini books. I like that is has a start and a finish...I have the satisfaction of having a completed album. I like to experiment with different techniques in my mini books. I also like the fact the people like to look at mini books; they aren't overwhelming with pictures and information. It forces me to "tell the story" in a concise way, using my best pictures and journaling.
Q: Do you listen to music/watch TV while creating?
A: I usually like it quiet when I'm creating. I love peace and don't mind silence!
Q: What are your favorite magazines for inspiration?
A: For inspiration I read Country Living, Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion (which is sadly no more), Domino, and other decorating magazines.
And here is a layout Debby designed, using the Enchanted Christmas Collection. We love the sparkle that our Glitter Chipboard add to this stylish piece.
