Happy Wednesday - we're halfway through the week! Today we have a pretty layout from design team member Emeline Seet to share with you. She paired the Classic Elegance and Attic Treasures Collections beautifully on her page.
Here's Emeline's thought process behind the layout:
On this layout, I used a range of products from Melissa Frances. Namely Melissa Frances' tags, green vellum bags(GN555), white pearls (GN278) and resins.
I chose a close-up black and white portrait photo and used it as a pivot to build layers on my layout. A beige card stock was selected to frame the entire page.
In order to create my layout without embellishing and layering in an overwhelming manner, I chose the placement of each piece of pattern paper and embellishment purposefully. I layered the embellishments close in clusters and use the pattern papers in measured portions. Before I secure each item, I would twig and turn until the overall composition pleases my eyes.
Melissa France's resins are such wonderful embellishments which adds elegance to any layout. I love to include them onto my layouts and projects! In order not to overload my page with excess bulk, I fitted a smaller resin (crown) into a wider piece of resin.
Our friends at Blue Moon Scrapbooking have made a video showcasing the brand new "The Sweet Life" products. The line has been shipping to retailers around the world and we are looking forward to seeing what you, our customers, will create with it!
And, if your local scrapbook store doesn't carry the line, you are able to purchase it directly on www.melissafrances.com (The Sweet Life products begin on page 3 of the New Products for 2014 section.)
Do you have any fun creating plans for this weekend? If you're in PA, we hope you'll consider coming to the Scrapbook Expo show in Oaks and see us!
If you're going to be crafting at home, here is a beautiful wall decor piece by design team member Karin Aguirre to give you some inspiration. She took our House Backdrop piece and covered it with patterned paper from our "Classic Elegance" collection. Finally, a brooch, some trim and a saying are all she needed to pretty it up and finish it off!

On Friday we told you that "The Sweet Life", the brand new Melissa Frances collection, designed by Everyday is a Holiday has begun shipping to stores! In celebration, Jenny and Aaron, the designers behind the line posted a really fun tutorial on their blog. Click here to read it.
Today's blog project comes from our talented, long time design team member Melissa Phillips:
I have fallen head over heels in love with the new Melissa Frances collection, The Sweet Life. How can you resist, pink and blue cupcakes with sprinkles on top, tiny ballerinas, taffy, and other sweet treats?
I recently created a couple of mini albums using The Sweet Life collection and Sizzix dies. The albums are covered in Hooray for Cake patterned paper (PA418), Ballerina Cupcakes patterned paper (PA416), and Sweet Life Journaling Cards (GNJA006). I added Melissa Frances Pure Silver Glass Glitter (GN350E) around the edges of both journaling cards to bring in some shabby sparkle and added a bit of pink crocheted trim down the edge.
Lastly, I finished with a few millinery flowers and sequins, one can never have too many of these special embllishments. I hope you're inspired to create something sweet for yourself today.
