Meet our June Guest Artist...Jennifer Beason!

My_bio_pic Where were you born, and where do you currently live? I was born in England, but moved to the United States with my parents when I was sixteen. I currently live in Ocala, Florida.

Tell us about your family: I have been married for 5 years and have 3 kids. Demetrius is almost 18, Jaiden is 4 and Jacob is 3.

Hobbies & Interests: Well, of course I love to scrapbook, alter just about anything and make cards. Although I haven't really had the time lately, I also enjoy cross stitching, knitting and making wood crafts.

Pet Peeves: Backseat drivers!!! (lol) I have to laugh, because my four year old is the worst!!!

Favorite Magazines: Creating Keepsakes, Vogue, Essence, Elle, Martha Stewart Living and any kind of decorating magazine.

Favorite Smells: Gardenias, baby powder and freshly baked bread.  .

Favorite Movies or Books: When it come s to movies, I'm a real sucker romantic comedies and tear-jerkers. A few of my favorites are; When Harry Met Sally, Love and Basketball, Far And Away, PS. I Love You, Remains of the Day, and Fried Green Tomatoes.

Favorite TV shows: Being Erica, Big Brother, Survivor, The Apprentice and I'll admit it, Young & the Restless!!!

Favorite Season: Spring

What time do you wake up in the morning? 8:30am

Do you collect anything? Besides scrapbooking supplies, No!

When and how did you get into scrapbooking? About five years ago while I was pregnant with Jaiden. I was watching one of the home shopping networks  and ordered my first scrapbooking kit. I've been hooked  ever since!!!

What music (if any) do you listen to while you scrap? My music tastes are all over the place these days. At the moment I'm listening to a lot of the Cure, Kate Nash and Martina Topley-Bird. I also love jazz and R&B.

How would you describe your scrapbooking style? Playful and fun.

What is more important to you…getting the photos into albums, or indulging in creativity? Definitely both!

Where do you find inspiration? Challenge blogs, magazines, kids books, television, fashion, toys, my kids,  just about anywhere really!

Do you like to crop with others or scrap alone? I scrap alone. I've never been to a crop before!!! :(

How has scrapbooking changed your life? It's made me appreciate all the day to day moments with my family more.

What is one scrapbooking tool, you can't live without?  My Exacto knife.

What format do you scrap? (12x12, 8.5x11 etc)? I prefer 12x12.

Do you have any organization or time saving tips you could share? I tend to use the supplies in my stash that I can see or have easy access to. So, I store most of my supplies on shelves just above my workspace. I use colorful buckets to store, glitter, markers, glue etc and clear compartment storage for chipboard and embellishments. You can also apply hooks under the shelves for additional storage.

Don't forget to Check out Jennifer's blog. Here is the first peek at one of Jennifer's beautiful projects...watch for more of her beautiful projects throughout the week!
